Metamora

Metamora looks to be in position to compete at the top of the rugged Mid-Illini Conference.   While defending 3A State Champion Morton will again be one of the favorites, the Redbirds will have depth on the mound and return a strong nucleus up the middle with Bartman, Vogel, and catcher Zach Beanblossom.   A strong defensive unit will support one of the delay pitching staffs in Coach Stone’s tenure.  The question will be whether the returning starters will be able to take a step forward offensively.  Scoring runs was a challenge in 2018 but a little progress in that area could lead the Redbirds back to a position to make abother deep postseason run.
